パラマパダム (Paramapadham)のルール
蛇と梯子のタミルの祖、棒サイコロで。
パラマパダム——パラマ・パダ・ソーパーナム、最高の境地への階——は、蛇と梯子の元になったタミルの盤です。100のマス、梯子には八つの徳、蛇には十三のアスラ。振るのは立方体ではなく、四面の真鍮の棒2本、ダヤカッタイです。ヴァイクンタ・エーカーダシの夜を通して遊ばれます。

盤を囲んで2〜4人
パラマパダム (Paramapadham)をコンピュータと対戦。盤には1人、2人、3人と加われます。空席はすべて埋まるので、対局は必ず始まります。
友人や家族とオンラインで
盤を作ってコードを共有すれば、同じ盤で一緒に。オンラインの対戦はレーティングとMy Statsに反映されます。
中断したところから
対局の途中でタブを閉じても大丈夫。遊んでいた盤のまま、ブラウザに残ります。
広告は一切なし
広告も中断も、閉じるものも何もありません。すべてのVanikar™ゲームと同じ約束です。
🎯 目的
駒を100マス目、ヴァイクンタムまで運ぶこと——ぴたりの目で。
🎲 パラマパダム (Paramapadham)の準備
- 盤はゴープラムの下に並ぶ100のマスで、いちばん上がヴァイクンタムの門です。
- 2〜4人から人数を選びます。空いた席はコンピュータが座ります。
- 駒はタカラガイかタマリンドの種で、盤の外から始まります。
- 振るのはダヤカッタイ2本——無地・1・2・3を示す四面の棒です。
▶ パラマパダム (Paramapadham)の遊び方
- 2本の棒を一緒に投げます。出目は2面の合計——そして無地2本はゼロではなく12です。
- 駒は、ダヤム（1）が出るまで盤の外で待ち、出ると1マス目に入ります。
- 1・5・6・12はもう一度投げられます。
- 徳の足元にぴたりと止まれば——サティヤム、ダーナム、ポルマイ、ダルマム、タヴァム、ニャーナム、バクティ、シャラナーガティ——上へ運ばれます。
- アスラにぴたりと止まれば——プータナー、バカースラ、カンサ、ナラカースラ、ラーヴァナほか——下へ落とされます。
- 蛇の王カルコータカンは上がりの2マス手前にいて、ほとんど最下段まで落とします。
- 100マス目はぴたりと止まる必要があり、行き過ぎる目が出た駒はその場に留まります。
📖 詳しいガイド
The dayakattai
- Two long four-sided sticks, rolled between the palms and dropped — brass in a household that has them, wood in one that does not.
- Each stick shows a blank, a one, a two or a three, and the throw is the two added together.
- Two blanks are twelve, not zero. It is called eeraaru, “two sixes”.
- A one is a dayam, and the sticks are named for it: தாயக்கட்டை, the dayam sticks.
- A dayam brings a piece onto the board, and 1, 5, 6 and 12 all throw again.
The board and its night
- In Tamil Nadu this is the game of Vaikunta Ekadasi, in the month of Margazhi, when the Paramapada Vaasal — the gate to heaven — is opened in Vishnu temples, Srirangam first among them.
- Families play through the night to keep the vigil awake, which is why the game is long and the snakes are cruel.
- The gate under the gopuram at the top of the board is that door.
- The ladders are virtues and the snakes are asuras out of the puranas; the board is read as the soul’s way up.
How it differs from Snakes and Ladders
- The sticks, not a die — so no 7 through 11, and a twelve out of two blanks.
- A piece must be brought on with a dayam before it can move at all.
- Four throws earn another turn, not just the six.
- More snakes than ladders, and the worst of them two squares from home.
