Indian Jackass (also called Donkey, or other names for the same animal 😉) is a trick-based shedding game with no winner — only a loser. Follow suit while you can, dump your cards, and don't be the last player holding any. Each round's loser starts the next round with a penalty card, and rounds continue until the table decides to stop.

🃏 Preparação e regras de Indian Jackass

Use a standard 52-card deck, no Jokers. 2–6 players.
Shuffle, then deal one card at a time in round-robin order, up to 13 cards per player (with 4 players the whole deck is dealt).
The player holding the Ace of Spades leads the first trick. In later rounds, the previous round's loser leads.

The leader drops any card; its suit becomes the lead suit for the trick.
You must follow the lead suit if you hold it. If you have none of that suit, you may drop any card.
An off-suit drop ends the trick instantly — the whole pile goes into the hand of whoever dropped the highest lead-suit card, and they lead next.
If every player follows suit, the trick's cards are removed from play and the highest card leads the next trick.
Dropping off-suit while still holding the lead suit is an illegal move: the offender picks up the entire pile and must lead the next trick.
Players who empty their hand are out of the round. When only one player still holds cards, they lose the round.

Setting up your table

Indian Jackass seats 2–6 players — at least one human, with up to 5 AI opponents at Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty.
Each round the dealer presses Deal: cards go out one at a time, round-robin, up to 13 per player. With 4 players the whole deck is dealt.
The player holding the Ace of Spades leads the first trick (if it wasn't dealt, the app picks the next card in priority order: A♣, A♦, A♥, K♠, …). From round two on, the previous loser leads.

Following suit and winning tricks

The leader drops any card and its suit becomes the lead suit. Everyone after must follow suit if they can.
The moment someone with no lead-suit cards drops another suit, the trick ends — the whole pile goes into the hand of whoever played the highest lead-suit card, and they lead next.
If every player follows suit, those cards leave the game for good — that's the only way cards are permanently removed — and the highest card leads the next trick.

Illegal moves

Dropping off-suit while you still hold the lead suit is illegal. The app warns you before you confirm the play.
The penalty is heavy: the offender takes every card in the pile into their hand and must lead the next trick.

Losing the round and penalty cards

Play your last card and you're out — unless that card wins the trick, in which case the pile comes back to you and you're still in. The last player holding cards loses the round, even with just one card.
The loser starts the next round with a penalty card guaranteed in their hand: Ace of Spades first, then A♣, A♦, A♥, K♠, K♣, … one more for each consecutive loss.
Escape the streak and your extra penalty cards pass to the new loser, one per round, in the order you received them.
Rounds continue until any player requests a stop; the session ends after the current round. Rearrange your hand any time — it never affects play.

An example round

Four players — Asha, Bela, Chetan, Deep. Asha holds the A♠ and leads the 7♥; Bela follows with the 10♥ and Chetan with the Q♥. Deep has no hearts and drops the 5♣ — the trick ends instantly, and Chetan (highest heart) picks up all four cards and leads next.
Later, Chetan leads the 9♠; everyone follows suit — 2♠, K♠, 4♠. All four cards leave the game for good, and the K♠ player leads the next trick.
Endgame, two players left: Chetan holds two cards, Deep five. Chetan leads the 4♦ and Deep follows with the 8♦ — both followed suit, so the cards are removed and Deep leads. Deep leads the 3♣; Chetan has no clubs and drops his last card, the 9♥, off-suit — Deep's 3♣ is the only club, so Deep takes the pile back. Chetan is out of cards, Deep is the last player holding any: Deep is the round's Jackass.

Common table variations

Player count changes the deal: with 4 players the full 52-card deck goes out evenly; with 2–3 players some cards sit out the round; with 5–6 players hands come out slightly smaller than 13.
The penalty ladder is the signature Vanikar rule: consecutive losses stack A♠, A♣, A♦, A♥, K♠, K♣ … into the loser's next hand, and escaping a streak passes your penalty cards to the new loser one per round.
Session length is up to the table — play a single round for a quick loser, or keep the rounds rolling and let the app's round-by-round loser log tell the story of the evening.
