🃏 Preparación y reglas de Snap

  1. Use a standard 52-card deck. Deal all cards face-down equally.

▶ Cómo jugar Snap

  1. Players take turns flipping their top card face-up to a personal pile in front of them.
  2. When the face-up card on one player's pile matches the face-up card on another's pile in rank, any player may shout "Snap!"
  3. The first to shout "Snap!" wins all the cards in BOTH matching piles, adding them to the bottom of their hand.
  4. False "Snap!" calls (when cards don't match) result in giving one card to each other player.
  5. A player who runs out of cards is eliminated. Last player with cards wins.

📖 Guía detallada

Setting up the game

  • Snap seats 2 to 8 players. The whole deck is dealt out face-down, as evenly as the player count allows.
  • Each player keeps their pile face-down and builds a personal face-up stack in front of them as they play.
  • Only rank matters — suits and colours are ignored entirely.
  • The game is a pure reaction test, so it works well across very mixed ages.

Flipping and snapping

  • Players take turns flipping the top card of their pile onto their own face-up stack.
  • Whenever the top cards of any two players' face-up stacks show the same rank, the match is live and anyone at the table may call it.
  • The first player to call Snap wins both of those matching stacks and adds them to the bottom of their pile.
  • Because a match can appear between any two stacks, you have to watch the whole table rather than just your own cards.

False snaps

  • Calling Snap when no two top cards match is a false snap, and it carries a real cost.
  • The false snapper pays one card to every other player still in the game, so a wrong call in a big group is expensive.
  • That penalty is the only brake on the game — without it the correct tactic would be to call constantly.
  • Watch for players who call early and often; they bleed cards steadily even when they win some piles.

Winning

  • A player who runs out of cards is out of the game, and play continues without them.
  • The last player still holding cards wins.
  • A single successful snap late in the game can hand you a huge stack, so being behind is rarely permanent.
  • The game is capped at 1,000 flips to stop an endless cycle when nobody manages a clean snap.

📊 Puntuación de Snap

The player who wins all cards wins the game.
