How to Play Yukon Solitaire
Every card on the table: move any face-up card with what lies on it.
Also known as Yukon
Learn Yukon: no stock, any face-up card moving with everything on it onto the other color one rank higher, only kings into empty columns. Work through one move, then play in your browser.
A jumbled group moves as one
Column 5 ends in the 9♠ with the 4♦, Q♣ and 7♥ lying on it, and column 2 ends in the 10♥. Tap the 9♠ and then column 2: all 4 cards move together, even though they are not in order, because only the 9♠ has to fit, and a black 9 goes on a red 10. The face-down card under the 9♠ turns up. Onto a 10♠ the same group would be refused, since the 9♠ and the 10♠ are the same color.
| Move | Result |
|---|---|
| 9♠ with 4♦ Q♣ 7♥ on it, onto 10♥ | Moves: only the 9♠ has to fit |
| 9♠ onto 10♠ | Does not move: same color |
| K♣ with cards on it, into an empty column | Moves: a king starts an empty column |
| 7♥ into an empty column | Does not move: only a king starts an empty column |
| A♦ at the end of a column, tapped | Goes to its foundation at once |
Face-down cards never move; one turns up as soon as it is uncovered. The deal is lost the moment no legal move is left, and the score is the cards on the foundations.

Move all 52 cards onto the four foundations, one per suit, built up from the ace to the king. If you don't finish, your score is the number of cards on the foundations.
🃏 Yukon Solitaire Setup & Rules
- One standard 52-card deck, no jokers. The app deals every card into seven columns: the first holds 1 face-up card, and each of the others 1 to 6 face-down cards under 5 face-up ones, so the columns hold 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 cards.
- Above the columns sit four empty foundations: clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades.
- It is a solitaire for one: there are no other seats to fill and no setup options, so the deal starts as soon as you choose Yukon.
▶ How to Play Yukon Solitaire
- Tap the card you want to move, then the column or foundation it goes to. A tapped card that can go to its foundation goes there at once.
- In the columns, a card goes onto a card one rank higher of the other color: a red 9 on a black 10. Any face-up card may move, and every card on top of it comes along, whether or not those cards are in order; only the card you pick up has to fit.
- Only a king, with whatever lies on it, goes into an empty column. The app refuses to move a whole column into an empty one, since that changes nothing.
- A face-down card turns face up as soon as the card on it leaves.
- Foundations build up in suit from the ace to the king, one card at a time. Once a card is on a foundation it never comes back.
- There is no stock and no redeal. Auto makes the move the app's own policy would make, Undo takes back the last move, and Give up ends the deal where it stands.

📖 Detailed Guide
Setting up your table
- From the game menu choose Yukon. It is a solitaire for one, so there are no other seats to fill and no app opponents.
- Yukon has no setup options: there is no deal number to enter, no timer and no scoring variant. The deal starts at once.
- The app shuffles one 52-card deck and deals all of it: 1 face-up card in the first column, and in each of the other six columns 1 to 6 face-down cards under 5 face-up ones.
- Across the top are the four foundations, clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades, all empty. There is no stock.
Moving cards
- Tap a card, then tap where it goes. Tap it again to put it back, or tap another card to pick that one instead.
- A card goes onto a card one rank higher of the other color: a black 6 on a red 7. Only face-up cards can be tapped.
- Every card on top of the card you tap moves with it, in order or not. That group move is what sets Yukon apart from Klondike, where only an ordered run moves together.
- When the last card on a face-down card leaves, the face-down card turns up by itself.
Empty columns and foundations
- Only a king goes into an empty column, together with whatever lies on it. Any other card tapped onto an empty column is refused.
- The app will not move a whole column into an empty column, because that would change nothing.
- A tapped card that fits its foundation goes there at once: the ace first, then the 2, and so on up to the king, one card at a time.
- A card on a foundation never comes back down, so keep a middle card in the columns while you still need it to build on.
Ending the deal
- You win when all 52 cards are on the foundations; the summary shows how many moves it took.
- The deal is lost the moment no legal move is left. There is no stock to fall back on; your score is the cards on the foundations.
- Auto plays one move of the app's own policy each time you tap it. If Auto can find no way on from a position, it concedes the deal.
- Undo takes back the last move, as many times as you like, and Give up ends the deal as a loss, scored where it stands.
📊 Yukon Solitaire Scoring
You win when all four foundations run from ace to king, and the summary counts your moves. The deal is lost the moment no legal move is left. Either way your score is the number of cards on the foundations. There are no points beyond that and no timer, and Play again deals a fresh random layout.
